What is NCR?
NCR(Carbonless Copy Paper or Non-Carbon Copy Paper) is an alternative to carbon paper, used to make a copy of an original, handwritten document without the use of any electronics. The process was invented by chemists Lowell Schleicher and Barry Green, working for the NCR Corporation, as a biodegradable, stain-free alternative to carbon paper.
How does NCR work?
Writing or printing pressure breaks the capsules and releases the dye, which reacts with a clay or phenolic resin coating on top of a second paper sheet, located directly below the first, to produce visible color.
